Issues

Forced Labor

Forced Labor is a global issue. While U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has done an admirable job at detaining cargo to assess applicability of law to certain goods, the scope of enforcement has been lacking. More equitable enforcement is needed.

Made in America

Many energy companies fraudulently claim to be made in the USA or assembled in the USA in violation of the FTC’s Made in the USA Labeling Rule. These companies gain a significant marketing advantage vis-à-vis their competitors while deceiving American consumers.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Not all green energy is clean. Some green energy components contain toxic substances, which put miners in danger and threaten the environment and groundwater supplies. Renewable energy has a lifespan and responsible decommission protocols are necessary to protect the environment

Tariffs

To promote fair trade and reduce global greenhouse gases, the U.S. should encourage solar production at home and abroad.  Poorly designed tariffs which inhibit friendshoring and limit renewable energy deployment compromise global climate objectives.
